MommyCon Chicago is a large conference that takes a positive approach to educating parents about the emotional and physical benefits of natural birthing, breastfeeding and babywearing. I am very excited about attending this year as part of the Blogger Team and Parent Squad. The event is March 3- March 5, 2017 at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center 9291 Bryn Mawr Ave Rosemont , IL 60018.
I have been talking about MommyCon Chicago on Twitter and Facebook since late 2016 since I found out about the conference. The message MommyCon delivers is truly one I can stand behind and as a mother, I want to help promote. MommyCon takes an approach to holistic health, something I genuinely believe is beneficial to ALL especially little ones. Their message is to advocate and teach parents about eco-friendly diapering, child procedures and safety standard, and female self-care and wellness. They want to create a community of support, acceptance and non-judgement for parents journeying through parenthood.
As a health educator in our community, I believe that if every parent is given the opportunity to receive the proper nutritional and safety education, their child’s first years of life can led them on the path to a healthy happy life.
As a mother of a toddler boy I have had the opportunity to breastfeed, baby wear, and make his baby food all while caring for his older sister and working a full-time job. It wasn’t always easy, but I made it with the support of my husband. I would have loved to attend an event like this while I was pregnant or during his first year. I am looking forward to learning more about what I can do during his 2 year to continue to provide him with the most holistic life possible.
