Eat A Balanced Diet
Between raising two kids, a marriage, a full-time job and maintaining my website full-time, I sometimes get overwhelmed. Here are a few tips using essential oils and Organic Aromas diffuser I have been doing to de-stress this year. I’ve noticed my overall mood is different, my spirits are high and I sleep better. If you can start by incorporating 1-2 of these tips daily you should start to see a positive change.
I know most people will tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But let’s be honest as moms we are generally rushing out of the door in the morning, in a hurry to get the kids to school. We generally grab anything to eat for the sake of eating. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently started a Ketogenic Diet. A ketogenic diet is very low carbs, high healthy fats, and moderate proteins.
Since starting this way of eating, I don’t eat as much, I am losing weight, and I have more energy. It is essential to follow a diet that fits properly for you. The best thing about the Ketogenic diet is that I get to eat. I don’t feel deprived and I can enjoy meals with my family. I have been experimenting with creating my own sugar-free candies as well.
Use Essential Oils
Essential oils are wonderful for bringing tranquility to any busy mom’s home. Essential oils are natural oils obtained by distilling the fragrance of the plant or the other source from which it is extracted. I love diffusing essential oils around my house. They lift my mood, make my home smell nice and help to relax me. Laugh Out Loud
…often- Laughter is therapeutic and nothing puts me in a better mood than watching comedies with my husband. We get to let go while the kids are upstairs, have a few unhealthy snacks and laugh our butts off. I crash his man cave and we turn it into a mini at home date night.
Turn Your Bathroom Into a Sauna
Baths can be hard to relax in and take when you are a busy mom. Don’t get me wrong I love a long soak in my bathtub, but sometimes my schedule just doesn’t allow. But why slack on my relaxation time when I have an amazing shower head. You can easily turn your bathroom into a home sauna with only a few minutes to gather your items. Place a rolled towel under the door to keep as much steam as possible in your bathroom.
Dim the lights in your bathroom, add some candles and grab a great oil diffuser. You can recreate the relaxing ambiance of a sauna by adding the calming scents of chamomile, lavender, or bergamot. All these oil help reduce stress and anxiety. Diffusing lavender essential oil is my favorite. It will help you relax for the evening because it is a natural relaxation oil. Enjoy Your Sauna With Essential Oils and Organic Aromas Diffuser
It is important to take a shower to cleanse your body before you enjoy your sauna. Sometimes a nice evening shower can be enough to do the trick. A warm shower after a long day can act as a natural sedative. If you are stressed or have trouble sleeping, taking a warm shower for 10 minutes calms your body, mind, and mood.
After your shower, fill your tub with all hot water. Turn off the water after your tub is about half full. If your hot water runs out before this time, turn off the water. You don’t want to dilute the steam with cooler water. Sit next to the tub with your diffuser going in the corner (safe from water). The diffuser does contain a lithium battery, so place it an area that is further away from the shower. I place mine the counter.
Now is an excellent time to close your eyes, relax and let the oils works. Steam is a good way to way to clear congested sinuses and if you read my post about my sinus pain, you know that diffusers have helped me in the past.
Steam is also good for your skin. Steaming your skin in this way opens pores, which allows perspiration to be released naturally and in turn prevents clogging. After my at-home sauna treatment, I love to cool down with a cool shower to close my pore and moisturize with an in-shower body moisturizer.
